Privacy notice
This privacy notice sets out how we use and store information that you provide when you use this website or when you provide your details to us by other means, e.g. by telephone or when you meet us events and pass us your details via signup sheets, etc.
We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain personal data via the one or more of the various means mentioned above, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy notice.
We may change this notice from time to time by updating this page; therefore you should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Notice applies to all information that we have about you and your account.
The personal data we request from you
We ask for a variety of personal data to enable us to fulfil the services we are providing you. In most cases, such data collection will be achieved via specific online forms accessed through our website or through email communications with you. The personal data will be some or all of the following, depending on which service/activity you are seeking from us:
your name, your email address, your phone number(s), your postal and/or home address, contact details of other associated individuals (e.g. colleagues, venue staff, parents/guardians of children, etc).
Why we ask for the above personal data from you
We need some or all of the above personal data to be able to fulfil our services to you efficiently and effectively, and in the case of children’s classes to ensure that we can easily contact a parent or guardian in the event of an emergency or other matter relating to the child when he/she is in our care during a class.
We would also sometimes email you with information about our activities and other relevant news or updates, e.g. via our occasional e-newsletters. You are of course free to unsubscribe from our e-newsletter mailing list. You can unsubscribe using the “unsubscribe” link towards the bottom of the e-newsletters you have received, or else by emailing us with your request to unsubscribe. Email us at:
contact(at)shambhus.uk
(Note, we use MailChimp to administer and distribute our e-newsletters – see section below on “Where the personal data we have received from you is stored”)
Automatically collected data
To help us improve the service we are providing, like many companies we use Google Analytics to monitor how our website is used. For example, we track which links you click on our website or in our e-newsletters, and that process may involve your IP address being recorded when you click one of our links.
Cookies
Like many companies, our website relies on certain cookies – small alphanumeric identifier text files that are stored on your machine – to function correctly and provide a good user experience.
Please visit our Cookie policy page for further information.
Where the personal data we have received from you is stored
Virtually all the personal data you have provided us with will be stored internally and securely on our own computer system hard drives, and securely on our website hosting provider’s system.
In addition, like many other companies, for the purposes of sending you our e-newsletters as described above, we use a third-party provider called MailChimp, whose systems are fully compliant with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). So, provided you give us your permission to send you our e-newsletters (e.g. via our online signup form or other means), your name and email address details will be transferred to MailChimp solely for processing our e-newsletter management and distribution on our behalf, in accordance with their Privacy Policy (MailChimp) and Terms (MailChimp).
Links to other websites
Our website, as part of the service we provide, may offer links to other websites which we think may be relevant and helpful to our visitors. However, once you have accessed these other websites through the appropriate links on our website, please note that we do not have any control over the content, security or privacy policy of other websites. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not under the scope of this privacy statement. If you are concerned, you should exercise caution and check the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
Requesting access to the personal data we hold about you
You may request details of personal information which we hold about you. Please write to us via email at:
contact(at)shambhus.uk
or via our contact form.
If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us, explaining the issue in as much detail as you possible. We will then endeavour to apply any due amendments as soon as possible.
Please note that we might need to request suitable ID before we can disclose/amend certain personal data.
